The Firefighter of the month of March is Firefighter Daryl Anderson. Firefighter Anderson has shown dedication in completing and keeping up with his Stations weekly truck checks. Firefighter Anderson has also been reliable in making as many calls and training as he can. Thank you for your commitment to this Fire Department and to our community.

Firefighter Of The Month: February

The Firefighter of the Month for the Month of February is FF Kathy Lyman. FF Lyman has been working extremely hard at the Stations to keep them clean and neat, as well as getting things ready for our annual BBQ. She has been attending our Firefighter 1&2 classes and has worked through her fears and is progressing with our training program. A note to everyone that your hard work does not go unseen.

West Rowan Firefighter Wellness Program

Tonight we will begin our firefighter wellness program. This program is designed to better our firefighters physically and mentally in order to help prevent future injuries and to increase the overall health of our firefighters. This is not mandatory but is encouraged by the training officer and is available to any member of West Rowan Volunteer Fire Department. We ask that you join us in this to help each other meet the physical demands of firefighting and build teamwork and trust in our department. We strive to offer the best service to our community and to increase our ability to do our job and do it safely. As always.... Everyone Goes Home, NO EXCUSES!!!!

NC FF 1&2: Firefighter Safety and Orientation

We will begin the next class on Tuesday, February 25th at 1900 hours at Station 68. All county personnel are invited to attend. If you know of anyone who needs these classes, encourage them to attend. Our PPE class went well but, we would like to see our numbers continually growing. Remember that class starts at 1900 hours so try and get to the station 10-15 minutes before 1900 hours in order to fill out our paperwork and that way we don't cut into our class time. Thanks for your participation and effort in the PPE class and we look forward to seeing some new faces and increased numbers in the upcoming classes.

Firefighter of the Month: January

The firefighter of the month of January is Maurice Parker. Maurice has stepped up his efforts in attending training and our FF 1&2 Classes. He has also been invaluable in making repairs to the generator on Ladder 68 as well as the Vent fan on Engine 681. Thank you for your dedication and hard work for the community and this Fire Department. Reminder to all that your work does not go unnoticed.

Personal Protective Equipment

Reminder of PPE Class tonight at 1900 hours at Station 68. Class is going well with a good turn out from the class. Be sure to bring your full set of turn out gear and come ready to work. If plans cooperate, we plan on going to the RCCC training grounds to use the SCBA training maze. Thank you for attendance and hard work displayed every week at class, It has not gone unnoticed. Be sure to encourage others to attend future classes so we can continue to provide the community with the best service available.
